How to use Squawkbox for FS2004 (Shortened Version)
The programs you will need to fly online with VATSIM are: Squawkbox, Squawkbox Relay and FSUIPC. You will find all three of these programs at the VATSIM Homepage. (You must have FSUIPC.dll in your FS2004/Modules folder for SB Relay to connect to FS2004). First you open SB Relay, then you open FS2004. In the multiplayer connect menu in FS2004 you should see a session called SB Relay; you join this session. Once connected to SB Relay, you then set up your flight and click "Fly Now" in the flight simulator. Then, once your plane has loaded at the correct airport in FS, you ALT-TAB flight sim and open SBHost. Once SBHost is open, you then open SB Main Program and connect to the SB Relay session. You then RIGHT-CLICK on the dark gray section of SBHost and click "Connect" in that menu. You then enter your name, PID and passward in the correct boxes Please note that if you would like to use voice you must check the box on the right-had side of the connect menu. Once you are connected, you go RIGHT-CLICK again and go to the ATC Functions menu and file a flight plan. When your flight plan has been filed you then do the same thing again except you go the "ATC Directory" rather than "ATC Functions". There, you double-click on the controller that you would like to connect to. Once connected you (if filed IFR) will call up the controller requesting clearence for an IFR flight to your destination. Remember, you must readback all instructions given to you by a controller.

How to use Squawkbox for FS2002 and FS2000 (Shortened Version)
For FS2002 it is exactly the same except that you do not need to use SBRelay. You just open FS2002 and in the connect menu you host a session, rather than join a session as there will not be the SBRelay session to join. Once your are hosting a session you follow the directions given above. If you would like to use voice you can download AVC (Advanced Voice Client) at the AVC Website. Note: If you are having any trouble connecting to VATSIM or would just like some assistance contact the Manager of Member Services.
