Tough economic times can mean opportunity. A prominent regional airline has had to move two of its B1900s based out of Phoenix to cover routes in Texas and Colorado. The aircraft that had been flying two routes were leased from a bank that has gone under. All its assets have been seized, leaving the airline short two badly needed aircraft. After the company did some schedule shuffling, Mountain Air has been contracted to cover some of the trips. The suits in Denver, always tough negotiators, said we would accept the contract if we could use our own crews.
