Getting Started
You have been using Flight Simulator for a while and now you are looking for a new challenge, so you joined a Virtual Airline (VA), in this case Mountain Air. You received a pilot ID, password and a welcome letter from the Seattle Hub -- Great! Now what? The first thing you should do is go to the Flight Assignments page and look up your assigned flight for the month.
In your case, this will likely be the assignment for a New Hire. The monthly assigned flight for new hires is a short flight between KSEA (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Washington) and a relatively close by airport, so it probably won't require much more than an hour of your time. You can find all of the details of the flight by clicking on the flight number. You will be flying the B190 (Beech 1900) and the route of flight will most likely require you to follow a departure and/or arrival procedure. You can find all of the necessary charts on the Airnav website, which you can link to from the Flight Details page.
You have looked at the charts and route of flight, now you are ready to start your flight. Break out the checklists - Startup, taxi and depart. Follow ATC directions, either live if online and ATC is available or Flight Simulator generated if not. Fly your route and setup for a visual or instrument approach as required, land, taxi to the gate, and shutdown. You have just completed your first flight for Mountain Air -- Great Job!
