VFR round robin flight around northern Utah and southern Idaho. A Box elder county rancher has chartered us to pick him and his wife up in Morgan to get an aerial view of some properties that they are considering purchasing. I flew this in a Cessna 172.

Leg 1 Kslc-42U

Depart from Salt lake international airport on the I-15 VFR transition flying north along the mountain when you reach I-84 Turn east up the canyon to Morgan the airport is 8 miles NW of the city. Your passengers will be waiting for you land pick them up and head off to jacks. This is an easy 3900-foot asphalt runway.

Leg 2 42U-UT29  40NM/0:49

Fly Heading 330 degrees between the high peaks of the mountains out over the lake to pick up some altitude after crossing the lake turn left head 315 degrees. The field is 1 mile NE of Tremonton, UT 9.2 NM DME from LHO (112.90) along the hillside. The runway is 4/22 3650 foot Dirt/Turf in good condition. This will be another quick stop to Drop off some paper work to Jack and then off to Bear Lake.

Leg 3 UT29-1U7  49NM/0:45

Depart on a heading of 060 Degrees to the south end of Bear Lake. Once you reach the lake, descend as low as you can fly along the east shore so that they can get a good look at where they want to build their lakeside cabin. The Airfield is at the north end of the lake.

Leg 4 1U7-ID26  37NM/0:38

Fly a heading of 300 degrees. The field is in a valley between the mountains the runway is 16/34 and the approach to this field is steep. Shut down and grab some lunch or take a dip in the hot springs while your passages head of to look at a couple of properties.

Leg 5 ID26-1U0  62NM/0:47

Depart lava hot springs on a heading of 280 degrees. Bear Trap is a very hard to spot turf field that is in rough shape. The runway is 2250 feet long at an elevation of 4716 feet running NW/SW. This is another quick stop off to give some paper work to his partner who will be waiting in a pickup at the end of the runway and then it is off to Murphy Springs.

Leg 6 1U0-3U0   105 miles/1:07

Tune TWF VOR 115.80 R-230 for 58 miles in bound and out bound R-050 for 47. This is another turf field in poor condition due to rodent damage the runway is 5200 feet long running 1/19. This is also just a quick stop and go to drop off some paper work.

Leg 7 3U0-KSLC  169NM/1:47

Just as you are taxiing to take off back to Brigham City, he gets a satellite call asking him to come to Salt Lake City. Tune NAV radio to LCU VOR (113.6) heading 120 degrees for 78 miles DME. Then tune TCH (116.80) heading 109 89 miles DME to KSLC.
