Similar to the
notorious "Mail Routes" in the Juneau Hub, each of these charter flights has
been designed to add a "little" challenge to each pilot in the areas of
short takeoff and landing, high density altitude airfields, soft field
takeoff and landings, etc. Feel brave enough? Give them a try!!!
- Charter 1
- Round robin flight around the Green River beginning at Price (Carbon
County), Utah: A Carbon County rancher requests the pickup of 200 pounds
of supplies at his mountaintop ranch (that is inaccesible by auto), called
Tavapats. This equipment needs to be ferried to nearby Rogers Roost. Once
this cargo haul is complete, it'll be time to fly to Mineral Canyon along
the Green River in order to pickup a couple passengers, movie stars who
are filming on location for an upcoming movie. These passengers must be
ferried to Hanksville for some needed rest away from the set. After
complete, return to Carbon County.
- Charter 2-
This particular charter route is a VFR round robin flight around the
mountains of Boise in Southwestern Idaho. The runways on these fields
are short and some of the approaches are steep. The Mountain Air Beaver
or the DH6 Twin Otter would make great choices. Leave Boise with a
payload of 2000 lbs.
- Seasonal Charter Service - Help
get those skiers to the slopes! Effective from Dec 16 - Mar 15.
Daily service from Salt Lake to Jackson Hole WY (KJAC). Depart
KSLC 11:24 am, for a short hop over the mountains to Jackson Hole,
arriving at 12:24 pm. Depart for the return trip at 2:50 pm.
This charter uses the SnowFlake, Boeing 757. Note that KJAC has a
short runway, and you can't take off with a full load. Plan
accordingly to maximize the passengers. Enjoy the view of the
Tetons!
- Jazz
Charter - Through a very competitive bidding process, Mountain Air has been awarded a contract to provide Air Charter Service for the Utah Jazz for the 2008-2009 season. Check out the news announcement and schedule.
