Hurricane Wilma Relief

by JY, MTN003

An overly active hurricane season in 2005 is keeping us busy with humanitarian flights.   Hurricane Wilma rapidly formed and strengthened into a Category 5 storm in the southern Caribbean.   For almost 48 hours, the storm lashed the Yucatan Peninsula leaving flooding and extensive damage in its wake.

The destruction is widespread and people need out help.  The locals need to get their lives put back together and the trapped tourists need to get home.

JY met with Mexican President Vicente Fox shortly after the storm to offer the services of PAJN Cargo to help in the recovery effort.  Our fleet will be used to bring in supplies, deliver supplies, and evacuate stranded tourists.   "I am thankful that Juneau Cargo is willing to help my country rebuild after this disaster.", President Fox stated at a press conference.  "On behalf of the Mexican people, I thank Juneau Cargo and all its loyal employees for their help."

The Main Cargo Lift

To get supplies to the Yucatan, we have a large airlift underway.  You are free to choose any plane you wish for this airlift.  The larger the aircraft, the more supplies you can bring in, and the more tourists you can bring back out so don't be shy.  The only requirement is that you must stop in KSLC to pick up staged supplies.  The airport in Cancun is still not usable by large aircraft, so we will be flying the supplies to Merida for distribution by smaller aircraft.  You can use the flightplans below or make up your own.  Send screenshots so I can include them on this page!

Distribution Flights

To distribute the supplies to those who need them, we will use smaller aircraft from Merida.  Prop or Turboprop ONLY, no jets for this part of the mission.   The airports of the region are still too damaged to support Jet aircraft.  Send screenshots so I can include them on this page!

Thank you for your help.  If you have any ideas for new Humanitarian flights, please send them to me and they will be included in this section of the page.  Make a new flight for PAJN - you can be famous!
