Jet Route 1 (flight number 9950) - This interesting little jaunt covers over 1400NM with 7
stops. Bring commuting pilots to work for Mail Routes 3, 4, and 5 - plop your jet into some
short strips...have some fun. This route starts in our lovely Juneau Hub (PAJN), continues
to Gulkana (PAGK)for the start of Mail Route 3, on to Nenana (PANN)to drop off mail and pilots
for mail routes 4 and 5, then to Delta Junction (PABI), and Northway (PAOR) to pick up tired
pilots at the end of Mail Route 5, then back to Gulkana (PAGK), and on home to Juneau.

Western Canada with some really iffy places for a jet. Night landing at a strip with no lights?

to Barrow in a spiffy jet? Well, now is your chance. Let's explore the backwoods and tundra country.

How do our pilots get from their home base of Juneau to the Mail Route Hubs? How does all the
mail get to the Mail Routes? What do we do with the mail we pick up on the Mail Routes? I swear
I saw a Mountain Air jet in Alaska - was that a Juneau flight? These are just some of the questions
that have been coming up. As much as I have tried to hide it, now the truth shall be known. Our Mail
contract also includes large volume cargo flights - flights best suited to our jet fleet. Since I
am not big on jet flying, why not keep these things in mind as you fly:
Try to keep autopilot usage to a minimum. Hand flying makes you a better pilot.
Be prepared for short field operations. Minimum field length and heavy loads can kill, so
be careful!
Be aware that most airports served by our jets DO NOT have instrument approaches.
