Route 2 takes you on a Round Robin mail excursion west out of the ever popular Valdez AK towards Anchorage and up
the canyons of Central Alaska. Runways are short and the pucker factor is long.
Be prepared!

Logbook: Go west out of Valdez and turn right at second inlet. Follow the glacier north while climbing until you see a long, narrow lake and follow the left shore. Continue for 10 miles and look for an airport on right side of a mountain!	54 mi.	30 min.
2	Sheep Mountain (PASP) Sheep Mountain Airport Elevation - 2750 ft. Rwy 4/22: 2270 ft.	Jonesville Mine (JVM) Jonesville Mine Elevation - 870 ft. Rwy 3/21: 1450 ft. Logbook: Head west out of Sheep Mountain and follow the very large valley westbound. After the 5th river inlet on the right, watch for airport. The airport is on the right side of the valley alongside a lake.	41 mi.	25 min.
3	Jonesville Mine (JVM) Jonesville Mine Elevation - 870 ft. Rwy 3/21: 1450 ft.	Bold (A13) Bold Airport Elevation - 900 ft. Rwy 14/32: 1000 ft. Logbook: Head 180 deg.out of Jonesville mine and you'll cross a major river. Look for some lighted towers and a small river valley on the left. Follow the river valley to a lake, then follow it east. Bold Airport is small and hard to spot. This is the most difficult landing on the route!	24 mi.	17 min.
4	Bold (A13) Bold Airport Elevation - 900 ft. Rwy 14/32: 1000 ft.	Girdwood (AQY) Girdwood Airport Elevation - 150 ft. Rwy 1/19: 2088 ft. Logbook: There will be a series of mountain passes to clear southbound enroute to Girdwood. Very often, Girdwood is shrouded in low clouds. If this is the case, you're screwed! No IFR AUTHORIZED! The runway is not a big challenge, if you can find it.	23 mi.	13 min.
5	Girdwood (AQY) Girdwood Airport Elevation - 150 ft. Rwy 1/19: 2088 ft.	Whittier (PAWR) Whittier Airport Elevation - 30 ft. Rwy 3/21: 1480 ft. Logbook: Fly 180 out of Girdwood, turn left at large body of water. Follow the large inlet east until you hit large mountains...well, don't actually HIT them! On other side of the mountains, on a tiny stretch of land, is Whittier Airport.	16 mi.	12 min.
6	Whittier (PAWR) Whittier Airport Elevation - 30 ft. Rwy 3/21: 1480 ft.	Johnston Point (2AK5) Johnston Point Field Elevation - 15 ft. Rwy 6/24: 1700 ft. Logbook: Nice low stretch over water to this 'port on an island edge. A medium sized strip with an easy approach.	65 mi.	31 min.
7	Johnston Point (2AK5) Johnston Point Field Elevation - 15 ft. Rwy 6/24: 1700 ft.	Valdez (PAVD) Valdez Airport Elevation - 120 ft. Rwy 6/24: 6483 ft. ILS Rwy 6 - 109.50 Logbook: You can follow the water all the way to Valdez. You'll have the approach down pat after Route 1!	40 mi.	22 min.
