Route 14

by Ron Jorgensen - MTN1652

Amphib or Float, anything goes..  It is designed for flight at low altitudes.  Varying weather is suggested to change the difficulty of the flights.  Splash flights are VFR ONLY!  No autopilot either!!  If you want to fly high watching an autopilot, this division is not for you.

These flights will take you on a “Round Robin” around KMSP Intl. with 6 water landings. Total of 140 Miles.

ATC is not required but that is your option. If you use ATC you will be diverted to I know not where as you will be crossing numerous Approach/Departure lanes.

SCENERY: KMSPV4 @ AVSIM (optional)

WX: Please set your F.S. Weather Theme to “Gray & Rainy” as this will add a little spice to the flights.

Flight 1 - MY34 At Prior Lake to 28MN Vasa Park

Hdg. - 322 deg / 16 Mi W/W NW at 930' in elevation

Hdg. - 070 @ 28Mi

CAUTION; Numerous tall antenna’s to your left along the route. Up to 2,000' This is a large lake. Its just past the river.

Flight 4 - WI35 Ceder Lake to 0MN0 Winners Landing

Hdg. - 212 @ 30 690' in Elev.

This Location is between the main body of land and an island. HEADS UP for traffic.

Flight 5 - 0MN0 Winners Landing to MY96 Quist

Hdg. - 211 deg / 28 Mi 1004' in Elev.

You will see three lakes here. Land in the middle one.

Flight 6 - MY96 Quist to MT34 Jorgensen’s Landing

Hdg. - 349 deg / 20 Mi 989' in Elev.

Antenna’s up to 1,000' just to your left on this route.

Upon completion of these flights break out your fishing pole and catch supper.

Ron's Advice:  Use of the “GPS”or Moving Map is a very good idea as there are lakes everywhere..
