Route 5

This route can be flown with any Amphibian aircraft you wish.  It is designed for flight at low altitudes.  Varying weather is suggested to change the difficulty of the flights.  Splash flights are VFR ONLY!  No autopilot either!!  If you want to fly high watching an autopilot, this division is not for you.

Departure Point - Aosta, Italy (LIMW) /  Amphibian Aircraft Required!

Stop #1 - Lake 14NM From LFLJ

Arrival Point - Courcheual (LFLJ) /  Amphibian Aircraft Required!

Approximate distance = 45NM

Ron's Advice:  Depart LIMW ( Aosta, Italy)  heading west.  Follow the road below you.  It will veer a little to the right then MORE to the right.  Stick with the road .  In a little, the road turns 90 deg to the left...Follow the road.  You might have to climb up to about 7,400' to get over that little ridge but then its all down hill from there. You can just make out the lake.  Zoom right along and you will see the lake  in just a bit.

Just for that, after you land shut it down completely, restart and zip over to Courcheual (LFLJ).  Gosh, its only 14 miles.  You should do that with your eye’s closed.  YEAH, RIGHT

JY's Advice:  Ron's instructions seem clear enough; however, my first try I got lost.  I missed the 90 deg left turn!  Easy to do...in FSX there is a major highway in the valley...the turn left follows a smaller road, not the big highway.  Also, there is a small lake when going over the ridge..this is NOT the right lake.  If you are in doubt, plug in LFLJ in the GPS and be sure you are 14NM away...if not 14, wrong lake.  The final stop...well...this is a JY style airport.  I loved it!  It is not where I was looking for an airport, that's for sure.
